Iron Man Director Being Replaced for I.M. 3

After directing the first two blockbuster films and banking in more than $1 billion in worldwide sales, Vulture reports director Jon Favreau will not be returning to helm the third Iron Man film. Signs showed that Favreau’s directing duties were coming to an end, as he was not informed of any storyline information concerning Iron Man 3, according to his recent interview with MTV:

“In theory, Iron Man 3 is going to be a sequel or continuation of Thor, Hulk, Captain America and Avengers…This whole world … I have no idea what it is. I don’t think they do either, from conversations I’ve had with those guys.”

Many speculate it was a financial decision to not bring Favreau back. Still, this comes as no shock after hearing the news of The Avengers film being heavily over-budgeted during its pre-production phase. So who will direct Tony Stark’s new adventure?
