Will We See That Windows 7 Tablet in 2010?

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer announced at the World Partner Conference that Windows 7 slate devices will indeed be coming at the end of 2010. “We know you really want to know what’s coming…They [the Slate PC’s] will come from the people you would expect. From Asus, from Dell, from Samsung, from Toshiba, from Sony,” says Ballmer. While Apple’s iPad continues to dominate the market, unless it undergoes numerous failures like the iPhone 4, we don’t see Microsoft doing much on the tablet front. Then again, we might still be feeling the sting of the KIN cancellation.

Freedom and mobility, this is what modern workers want. But not all mini-netbooks and smartphones are suitable for work – in the quest for a mobile office the need for mobility has to meet security and efficiency requirements in order to be safely adopted in business.
