Paramount Greenlit G.I. Joe 2?
A fairly moderate taking at the box office and a devoted following to what was a surprisingly entertaining film is enough for Paramount Pictures to green light a sequel to G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra. The writing duo of Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (both have been hired to scribe the X-Men spinoff Deadpool, and wrote Zomebieland) are tapped to write the screenplay, and while details are scarce, no scheduled release date has been announced.
